May 31 Rising Action.Knowing that it's futile to explain, I shall try it anyways. The video in the link above shows someone pretending to be noob and struggling through PCB Extra (with some monologue), only to clear it with 1 life left. But in his excitement, he rams into the boss.
...
See? It's not very funny if I just told you, eh? Some stuff require rising actions to build up those stuff. Then when released, it becomes a deluge of emotions, quite powerful ones in fact.
Another example when appeal to emotion requires buildup of those stuff would be in the anime series NHK ni Youkoso!, where Yamazaki had to go back to his family's farm. If you just skip all those scenes of Yamazaki working, ranting and doing various other stuffs with Satou, you might not really care. However, if you go through the series by episode order, you would grow a sense of attachment to that character. And zibei when he leaves.
Why am I talking about this, and pointing out an anime series I've watched some months ago as an example? Boredom, perhaps. Or maybe I'm just trying to put content into this post which would otherwise contain just a link to a video most people would never bother to register just so that they could see it. :V May 13 Sec 3 Camp!Exclaimation mark used so as to differentiate from previous post, lawl.
OBS was, well, meaningful. Yeah. Different people had different experiences due to being in different groups and stuff.
So anyways, first day. I arrived on Ubin, with the mindset to be ready to let anything I packed get ruined. Yay for optimism! We get a briefing by our camp instructor nicknamed "Mario", then split into the different groups. Our instructor Candy did a few admin matters as well as this icebreaking game where we write nametags on masking tape and exchanged info about ourselves. I "acquired" some masking tape to make a 団長 armband...
...which was then lost to the premature kayaking course. Playing in the water on the first day was kinda fun (we lined all the kayaks together and made everyone stand in the water). But we also learned to support each other and stuffs, as well as the kayaking skillz.
Second day - 陆. We did a sort of activity around Campsite One, then set off. We then walked. A lot. Visited this
Third day - 海. I brought my (still wet) stuff from the first day. Ha! So we kayaked. A lot. I lagged down and became the last to reach this smallish island. :V After lunch, I failed to lag further. Yay!
Then it started to rain. First came the small droplets that could be easily ignored, but the rain grew heavier until we were pelted by...larger droplets. But we perservered, since we were already wet anyways. We reached Camp One, where we got wet again by jumping into the water. Uh yeah, I totally did not skip this jetty jump thing! I dived in you know!
...that was a lie. :V
After clearing up, we walked to Camp Two, where it is equally dark and stuff. I think I ate the noodles again, couldn't really see either.
Fourth day - 空. We climbed a wall and stuffs. No real money was involved. We also walked back to Camp One, where this lawl-ish thing happened. People, please don't emulate the account below.
Apparantly テイーラッ was quite the tired and a bit sick and such, so he went back to the dorm-store-building-thingy first. Then he fell asleep on the second floor, where there is the table and stuff. Next, we came back, and waited about one hour, like "where the heck is テイーラッ", etc.
カーホン was like, "[verb] his mother la!" Someone asked him why he wanted to [verb] テイーラッ's mother. So カーホン replied with a timeless quote.
"I said [verb] his mother, not I [verb] his mother!"
So yeah, don't follow this, and don't be foulmouthed people kthx?
So after one hour, Dao Yi found テイーラッ sleeping upstairs. Some people were "quite" displeased with the wait.
Fifth day. We woke up in the rain. Yay. After breakfast and stuff, we packed up. For some reason, there was a swearfest at the store (don't copy this again kthx) to de-stress. After packing up, we shared our moments and what we have learnt (somewhat similar to this post, with the absence of some accounts.) Then we ate lunch, bought some shirts and stuff, and set off back home. D:
So yeah, OBS is one of those "excellent, but only for short periods of time; if it was any longer, it'll become baaaad" programmes. Like the boarding school. And I'll be quite frank here: I'll most prolly forget most of the details of this camp in the future, including who was in my group and stuff. (My memory fails sometimes) However, I am certain that I learnt certain stuffs (like acceptance of other people, no matter how much of an a-hole they might be) that would be useful in Future Endeavours. May 06 Sec 3 Camp. No, I haven't cleared it. Yet. Maybe starting tomorrow.
Somehow, when packing for the camp, I have this mindset that assumes everything I pack would most probably end up destroyed or missing after the camp. Perhaps it's because I'm going to Ubin. Which is not Singapore with the awesome sense of security. Oh wells, maybe that's why they call it OBS
Went to Kino again today. Got the following stuffs:
Uh yeah, I was at Kino to uh...prepare for the camp! Because I'll be exhausted to even play computer games after the camp, and I'll need a good book to rest! That was a lie. My stock of unread light novels now total to 10. Whee. I'll eventually get to them though. |
